Sorry I’ve been so distant this past week.
I’ve gotten a little overwhelmed and didn’t make near enough time for blogging but I have been working on projects!
I haven’t been able to completely finish all of them but I was able to complete the ugly wardrobe!
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen in my stories where I had picked this wardrobe up in Staunton, VA.
It’s a older piece but not super old. Definitely ugly.
The orangey stain color that covered it was doing it no favors.
Just a big orange eye sore.
So I dived into my hoard of paint that I have accumulated over the past 3 years and decided to mix a light gray and a medium gray paint to get the color I was looking for.
“Amanda, you didn’t use Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint?“
I know, I KNOW.
I would have loved to use MMSMP on this piece but my milk paint stash is low and I had no time to waste.
There was also a debate on whether or not I should paint the inside of the piece. At one point it was 50/50 for those that voted! But the “YES” eventually outweighed the “NO” and I took paint to that as well.
I’m glad I did because it made it so light and bright! and clothes look beautiful inside of it.
For not being very excited about working on this piece I really really like how it turned out!
It is no longer the ugly wardrobe.
It’s just The Wardrobe now and it will be making it’s way to The Mountain View Vintage Market next weekend (Saturday, October 21st).
I have more projects to post! So keep an eye for another post here soon!
